Standard of Living is Important!

It’s important to know about Standard of Living because you can better understand how people live if you know their standard of living. It will help you see how fortunate you are to have the nice things you have. It will also make you more aware of countries struggling to meet their needs and wants. Economics and standard of living can be analyzed by the 5 themes of geography. For example, place is one of the 5 themes. The kind of economy and standard of living in an area helps define place. Another example is movement. People will have to trade to meet their needs and wants which is a form of movement.

5 Themes Of Geography

Analyzing the world with the 5 themes of geography helps people better understand connections between people and the earth. The 5 themes show how people can use the earth and adapt to their surroundings, it also shows what different places are like on the earth and it depends on what type of climate there is and what type of people live there. The 5 themes show how people affect the earth, and how the earth affects people.

I think region is the hardest theme of geography to understand. Region is the hardest to understand because it can be categorized by both human and physical characteristics. When you say the names of the other themes you can kind of get a sense of what they are about. For me, region isn’t like that. I think region is hardest to analyze.

Map Skills

Basic Map Skills are mostly easy but very important when reading and understanding a map. I find the easiest part of Basic Map Skills are map keys because you just have to match up colors and shapes from the map key onto the map, they are usually pretty simple and easy to look at. But sometimes Basic Map Skills are difficult. I struggled with scale because, you have to measure the scale first and then measuring the right distance of what you’re measuring is tough. Then, matching up the numbers and miles is more complicated. Basic Map skills are important because they help you read a map and without the basics you can’t get into more complicated map skills. Some examples of geography are mountains, rainforests, and deserts. These are all geological features and if you look at a map the only way you’ll understand where they are is if there is a key and/or labels which both have to do with basic map skills. You wouldn’t be able to understand maps without Basic Map Skills!
